New Orleans locksmith dies after an overdose of heroin

New Orleans, La.

(AP) A New Orleans lockmith has died after an accidental overdose of drugs, authorities said.

Locksmith Col. Thomas T. Perezk died Tuesday in Louisiana, according to a statement from Louisiana State Police.

The statement said Perezk, of the city of New Orleans and the city’s police department, was a locksmith who was a friend and colleague.

He died as a result of an overdose, the statement said.

He was 47.

Police said they had arrested two people in connection with the overdose.
