Police: Woman found in SUV with guns in car, locksmith

A woman has been charged with stealing guns, including two handguns and a large magazine from a car she rented in Tucson, Arizona, according to police.

A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday morning after officers responded to a report of a person with a gun inside a vehicle on the 200 block of Southeast Broadway, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

The woman, identified by police as 24-year-old Amber T. Johnson, was booked into the Cottonwood Detention Center on suspicion of theft of a firearm, a class C felony, and theft by deception.

The man, identified as 32-year.old Christopher T. Brown, was arrested at his home in the 5100 block of Southwest 17th Avenue.

The Salt Lake County Jail released Brown after posting bond and he was scheduled to appear in court Friday.

A woman identified as 28-year, Ashley L. Mathers, was also arrested and charged with theft by a felony, a Class B misdemeanor.

She was booked at her home in Tempe and released after posting bail.
