Boca Raton locksmith says ‘this is going to kill me’

Boca, Fla.

— Boca’s locksmith is the latest person to come under scrutiny for allegedly impersonating a locksmith.

The locksmith who allegedly pretended to be a locksman on Twitter for several weeks has been fired from his job, Boca Police Chief Brian Buell said Thursday.

The Boca City Council on Thursday approved a resolution to terminate the locksmith’s contract, citing a lack of service and poor customer service.

Buell also said the department is investigating the alleged theft.

He said Bueell’s suspension is effective immediately and he would not discuss further specifics.

A person who answered the phone at the lockscreen website @locksmithbaynton responded with a message that said, “Sorry I didn’t realize your name was on this.”

Bueell did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
